Vincent Pastore celebrated his 80th birthday surrounded by friends and loved ones, enjoying a custom cake that reflected his vibrant spirit. A close friend shared that this moment captured the essence of Pastore, known for his iconic roles as mobsters.
In a video shared with TMZ, the beloved actor is seen relishing his milestone birthday, playfully asking a friend to repeat the celebratory jingle before blowing out the candles and erupting into laughter.
As reported earlier, Pastore, famously known for his portrayal of Salvatore “Big P” Bonpensiero in “The Sopranos,” was found deceased at his home in the Bronx last Saturday. His close friend Stephen Villano, who referred to himself as Pastore’s “right-hand man,” expressed that the news of his passing was utterly shocking.
Villano shared with The Post that Pastore had been in good health prior to his death, which police sources indicated appeared to be due to natural causes.
Pastore and Villano shared a remarkable friendship that spanned nearly three decades. Villano initially worked as Pastore’s driver, eventually becoming one of his most trusted confidants. He fondly remarked, “He was a good man,” adding, “I will miss him deeply.”
Despite being known for portraying tough characters on screen, Villano emphasized that Pastore was the opposite in real life. He described Pastore as generous, compassionate, and deeply rooted in his community.
Villano recounted how Pastore was a steadfast supporter of various charities, veterans, law enforcement, and families in need. He actively participated in fundraising initiatives for children’s causes and organized holiday events for widows and orphans.
The actor, who previously faced challenges with prostate cancer, was dedicated to helping others who were experiencing similar battles. Villano noted that Pastore viewed his role on “The Sopranos” as a transformative experience and was immensely grateful to the cast members who became his second family.
Friends, neighbors, and fellow performers gathered outside Pastore’s Bronx residence on Saturday night to pay tribute to a man who will be remembered not only for his iconic television roles but also for the kindness and warmth he exhibited off-screen.
