Instagram’s testing out one other option to lean into the recognition of Notes, with some customers now seeing a brand new “Notes” feed filter throughout the Reels tab, which is able to then present you solely Reels which have Notes included.
As you’ll be able to see on this instance, posted by Jaskaran Singh, some customers at the moment are in a position to entry a selected “Notes” itemizing, along with their “For You” and “Close by” feeds. That can then show Reels with Notes from your folks, offering one other option to drive Notes engagement.
Instagram rolled out Notes on Reels earlier this month, which allows customers to go away feedback and remarks on Reels (and feed posts too) that their connections are then in a position to see.
The Notes final for 3 days, and might solely be left by mutual follows, including a easy choice to spark interplay amongst your folks.
This new tab, then, would supply one other option to facilitate connection and response, by showcasing all the Reels that your folks have already commented on, so you’ll be able to be a part of within the dialogue.
If Notes, in fact, are your factor.
Virtually each time I write about Notes on IG, any individual inevitably feedback with a variation of “Who cares?”, or “Who makes use of these?”, or “Why don’t they simply give us extra attain?”
Many IG customers, it appears, are confused by Notes, and don’t seemingly have a lot curiosity within the possibility. However a key demographic for IG, and Meta extra broadly, has proven a number of curiosity within the possibility.
Notes have confirmed particularly well-liked with younger customers, whom IG says are “taking on notes at a wild tempo”. Certainly, Instagram reported final June that teen customers create notes at 10 instances the speed of non-teens.
That’s why Notes retains getting expanded, and retains getting increasingly more options, as a result of Instagram actually, actually desires to keep up reference to youthful, trendsetting teams, to be able to anchor them to the app, and ideally hold them from drifting off to TikTok as an alternative.
So, like them or not, use them or not, Instagram goes to maintain doubling down on Notes, and searching for new locations to include Notes for youthful customers.
So in case you don’t like them, don’t use them, however accomplish that within the information that youthful customers are apparently 10x extra enthusiastic about them than you or I are.
