According to a letter obtained by TMZ, three family members of Floyd — Zsazsa, LaTonya, and Rodney Floyd — are requesting a detailed accounting of the approximately $19 million collected through the GoFundMe campaign. The letter, dated Tuesday, August 11, emphasizes their need for clarity on how these funds have been managed.
Rodney, Zsazsa, and LaTonya are specifically asking their brother, Philonise Floyd, to provide a comprehensive overview of the donations received.
“We want to see the records,” the letter articulates. “It’s essential to understand how decisions were made and ensure that the family’s inquiries are addressed. We’re advocating for transparency.”
Siblings Express Concerns Over Fair Distribution of Funds
The siblings have stated that they have made multiple requests for access to the GoFundMe records. They have also sought documentation detailing the distribution of the raised funds. Their concern centers around not receiving what they believe is their fair share of the donations.
Following the receipt of the letter, Philonise has a timeline of 20 days to present the requested documentation. The family’s attorney expressed hope that this matter could be resolved amicably.
Legal Representation Involved in Fund Management
As reported by PEOPLE, the GoFundMe campaign is managed by Adner Marcelin, associated with Ben Crump Law. It is noted as one of the highest-grossing campaigns on the platform.
The family has informed TMZ that, besides reaching out to their brother, they have also contacted Crump for assistance. they mentioned that they have yet to receive a response. another GoFundMe campaign for Floyd’s daughter, Gianna, successfully raised over $2 million.
