Yaya Mayweather Faces Over $50 Million Damages Payment in Recent Legal Case
Yaya Mayweather’s social media post comes on the heels of a court ruling requiring her to pay over $50 million in damages related to a 2020 stabbing incident involving Lapattra Jacobs.
The altercation took place in April 2020 at NBA YoungBoy’s residence in Texas. Both Mayweather and Jacobs, who had romantic ties to the rapper, were involved in a confrontation that led to Jacobs being stabbed.
In 2022, Mayweather pleaded no contest to charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resulting in six years of probation.
In a subsequent civil case, a judge mandated that Mayweather pay Jacobs more than $50 million in damages. This amount included over $40 million in compensatory damages and an additional $10 million in punitive damages, as reported by The Shade Room.
