Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that a Texas judge granted over $40 million in compensatory damages to Jacobs. the judge awarded $10 million in punitive damages, resulting in a total exceeding $50 million.
These damages are intended to address medical expenses, pain and suffering, physical impairment, lost earning capacity, and disfigurement. The judge determined that Yaya’s actions demonstrated an “extreme degree of risk” and constituted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

A Detailed Review of the 2020 Stabbing Incident
The stabbing incident transpired in April 2020 when Yaya Mayweather confronted Lapattra Jacobs at NBA YoungBoy’s home in Texas. At that time, both women were reported to have romantic ties to the rapper.
Reports indicate that the two women exchanged heated words, leading to a physical altercation in the kitchen. Yaya allegedly seized two knives and stabbed Jacobs, who was subsequently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Jacobs underwent surgery for multiple stab wounds to her arm. Yaya was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the incident.
In December 2022, Yaya entered a no contest plea regarding the charge and received a sentence of six years of probation. Although she avoided incarceration, she was mandated to complete 40 hours of community service. she was prohibited from harassing or threatening Jacobs during her probation period.
In 2025, Yaya returned to social media to reflect on her past actions, as reported by The Shade Room. She expressed gratitude towards her parents for their upbringing and acknowledged that her actions did not align with their values. Yaya issued apologies to her parents and to anyone she may have harmed, including Jacobs. Despite maintaining that her actions were in self-defense, Yaya still expressed remorse to Jacobs for the events that transpired..
