Instagram’s Edits feature has recently received a highly anticipated update that introduces several new functionalities, including teleprompters, overlays, and more. This exciting news was announced by the company this week on their official Instagram account.
On Wednesday, the Creators’ Instagram account shared, “New on Edits.” They encouraged users to “Update your Edits app today to discover enhanced insights, creative overlays, and the much-requested Teleprompter feature. This innovative tool allows you to read your script while filming, enabling you to concentrate on capturing that perfect take. Swipe through the app to learn more about these updates, and feel free to comment below with suggestions for any features you’d like us to add next!”
The most thrilling addition in this latest pack of features is undoubtedly the teleprompter function, which significantly simplifies the content creation process. To experience it for yourself, initiate video recording by tapping the record button located at the bottom of the screen in Edits. You will find five options on the left side: a music symbol, an icon of a person within a dotted box, a timer button, a zoom button, and at the bottom of that list, the teleprompter button. By simply clicking on the teleprompter, you can input your script and adjust the text size and scrolling speed using the sliders at the bottom left of the script screen.

Meta introduced the Edits feature in late April. Similar to TikTok’s CapCut, this app is designed to assist users in creating Reels, but it also clearly positions itself as a competitor to CapCut. However, CapCut has established itself more firmly in the market, boasting a wide array of features that currently surpass those available in Reels. This means that the Edits app must work diligently to catch up to its competitor.
Since the launch of Edits just two months ago, the app has continuously evolved, introducing new capabilities such as additional fonts, filters, and voice effects. Furthermore, users can expect more cropping tools, 35 different transition effects, alignment guides, beat markers, and enhanced tracking sensitivity, as reported by Social Media Today.
