Brittany Boltinhouse: Former Miss North Carolina USA Why Was I Stripped of My Title Due to My Conservative Christian Beliefs?
Published
The 2026 titleholder of Miss North Carolina USA has publicly shared her experience after being stripped of her crown following allegations of using the n-word online. Brittany Boltinhouse strongly believes that her conservative Christian views were the primary reason for this decision.
Brittany Boltinhouse recently sat down with Donna King, editor-in-chief of Carolina Journal, for a revealing interview. She expressed her feelings candidly, stating, “I firmly believe I was stripped of my title because of my political beliefs and my identity as a conservative Christian woman.”
The former pageant winner identified herself as a Mormon, proudly affirming, “I uphold my standards. I am a proud conservative woman, a Christian woman, and a God-fearing individual.”
She chose not to address the resurfaced posts that allegedly contained racist comments she purportedly made between 2017 and 2019.
Brittany revealed that she cannot divulge specific details about her situation due to a “confidentiality clause,” but she conveyed that she is at peace with the outcome, referring to it as a “blessing in disguise.”
Despite describing the experience as an “emotional rollercoaster” that placed her family under scrutiny, she maintained, “I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know who I am and what I can achieve.”
Brittany also shared her thoughts on whether being a Donald Trump supporter disqualifies someone in the pageant world. She remarked, “Based on the information I have today, I honestly don’t know.”
As previously reported, the North Carolina pageant organizers announced on Wednesday that they were revoking her title and awarding it to runner-up Myla Hadley.

Thom Brodeur, chairman and CEO of Miss USA, did not specifically address the allegations against Brittany but stated in their announcement that the organization “does not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia, or any language that undermines a person’s dignity.”
