Throughout its impressive run, Prime Video’s The Boys has consistently welcomed Supernatural alums into its talented cast. This connection is no coincidence; both shows share the brilliant mind of Eric Kripke as their creator and showrunner. Kripke has made it a goal to incorporate actors from his previous series into his current project. The standout addition, former Dean Winchester actor Jensen Ackles, has taken on the role of Soldier Boy. Now, as the superhero series reaches its thrilling final season, it has also included two of his prominent former co-stars, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, much to the delight of dedicated fans.
On Friday, Prime Video unveiled an alternate cut from the scene featured in last week’s episode titled “One-Shots,” where the three Supernatural stars share a memorable moment together. In the main episode, Padalecki’s character, Mister Marathon, alongside Collins’ Malchemical, successfully knocks out Homelander and pitches the idea to Soldier Boy about turning against his son. However, the newly released video presents a different angle: instead of Marathon and Malchemical, it’s Padalecki and Collins’ characters, Sam and Castiel, attempting to convince Dean to join their side by highlighting the numerous misdeeds of Homelander, all in a classic Supernatural style.

“He’s taking Chuck’s name in vain!” exclaims Sam/Marathon, followed by Cas/Mal’s humorous remark, “They want to ban porn! They want to ban Busty Asian Beauties!” For anyone who holds a deep appreciation for Supernatural (especially those who have watched its first five seasons), this playful digression serves as a delightful nod that allows The Boys to deliver a substantial number of jokes within a brief timeframe, despite the noticeable ADR quality. Moreover, this moment carries a meta aspect, recalling one of Supernatural’s most iconic episodes—the season five episode titled “Changing Channels,” where the Winchesters had to engage in various television shows.
Considering the fate that awaits Marathon and Malchemical, it’s probably for the best that the Winchesters are not involved in The Boys. As we anticipate the unfolding of these final two episodes, fans are eager to see how Soldier Boy’s storyline concludes.
