He also touched on the trial itself, stating, “This is a stressful situation, and I’m relieved it’s behind me. I love you all, man. Big love. During his testimony, Mescudi laid out a detailed timeline of his relationship with Ventura, revealing that they first met in 2008 and began dating around 2011. He was aware at the time that “she and Sean Combs had some issues and that they were no longer together,” which adds context to the allegations that followed.

In December 2011, Mescudi recounted a frantic phone call from Ventura, who expressed fear upon discovering that Combs had found out about their relationship. He described her as “truly shaken,” revealing that she was worried about Combs knowing their relationship and that he might come to his house.

Ventura also confided in him about Combs’ abusive behavior, stating that he was informed Combs “would hit her, sometimes kick her.” While Mescudi noted he was unaware of any potential sexual abuse, the implications of emotional and physical abuse were clearly present in her testimony.

Mescudi expressed confusion over Ventura’s distress, as he believed that she and Combs were no longer involved. However, he sensed her anxiety and fear during their conversation, which prompted him to rush to pick her up for her safety.

According to Mescudi’s testimony, he and Ventura met with a Combs employee named Capricorn Clark at a nearby hotel. Mescudi noted that Clark appeared “very scared” and “on the verge of tears,” as she relayed that Combs and two associates had entered Mescudi’s house, raising alarms about a potential confrontation.

“She was forced to associate with them over there,” Mescudi testified, noting that Clark was on the phone while in the car outside. Mescudi then decided to return home and contacted Combs directly, asking him, “Motherf–ker, are you in my house?” expressing his disbelief at the situation.

Combs acknowledged being at Mescudi’s residence, stating, “I just want to talk to you. I’m over here waiting for you,” which raised further concerns about his intentions.

Mescudi later discovered that unsettling events had taken place at his home during his absence. He reported noticing that his security cameras had been repositioned, presents he had purchased for his family were opened and laid out on the kitchen counter, and his dog was confined to a bathroom. Fortunately, there was no apparent damage to the property, but the violation of his personal space was alarming.

However, Combs was not present at the time, Mescudi recounted. When he reached out, Combs told him, “he was on his way.” Upon witnessing the aftermath of the incident in his home, Mescudi admitted, “I wanted to confront him. I wanted to fight him,” illustrating the intensity of his emotions in that moment.

Nonetheless, after taking a moment to calm himself, he realized, “I don’t know who he has with him. I don’t know what his intentions are.” Instead of escalating the situation, he opted to contact the police and file a report regarding the apparent break-in, prioritizing his safety.

Despite the chaos, Mescudi mentioned that he and Ventura spent the holidays together with her family in Connecticut. During this time, Combs again attempted to reach out to him via text, expressing a desire to talk. “I assume he was in the dark about things and wanted to discuss, but post-break-in, I didn’t want to engage,” Mescudi testified, indicating his reluctance to communicate after the incident.

After recounting the unsettling break-in at his home following Combs’ discovery of his relationship with Ventura, Mescudi transitioned to discuss the alarming explosion of his Porsche that occurred the following month, a pivotal moment in this unfolding narrative.

In January 2012, Mescudi received a distressing call from his dog sitter, who informed him that his car was on fire. The sitter sent him photos, which were presented to the jury. Mescudi, who was approximately 45 minutes away at the time, described the damage as reminiscent of a “Molotov cocktail” attack — his immediate reaction was one of disbelief and shock, saying, “What the f–k.”

“It appears the top of my Porsche was cut open, and that’s where the Molotov cocktail was inserted,” he stated during his testimony. One of the Molotov cocktails was discovered by police in the driver’s seat, further intensifying the investigation.

While he indicated in court that he suspected Combs was behind the car fire, the defense countered by questioning the validity of his claims and sought to exclude this part of his testimony. During cross-examination, Mescudi was asked if he was aware that the DNA collected from his car after the fire belonged to a woman, a detail he had not previously been informed of by authorities.

After the car fire incident, Mescudi expressed that things were “getting out of hand,” prompting him to reach out to Combs again. He stated that he “finally told him we needed to meet up to talk,” as Combs had been eager to communicate and it seemed like the right moment to address their issues directly.

Upon arriving, Mescudi discovered Combs already at the hotel, “standing there, staring out the window with his hands behind his back, like a Marvel supervillain,” a vivid description that highlighted the tension in the room.

“We discussed pretty much the entire story from how Cassie and I first started dating to how it ended,” Mescudi recounted, noting that he took Ventura at her word when she claimed she and Combs were no longer involved.

Mescudi testified that he found Combs’ calm demeanor during the meeting “off-putting,” especially as the rapper denied any involvement in the car fire. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Combs allegedly responded when questioned about the incident, creating an atmosphere of distrust.

At this juncture, Mescudi withdrew his hand from a handshake with Combs, to which Combs replied, “Wait, I thought we were cool.” Mescudi reiterated his suspicion regarding Combs’ involvement in the burning of his vehicle, but Combs assured him that he had nothing to do with it, affirming his innocence.

Regarding Ventura, Mescudi expressed disappointment upon discovering that she had seemingly reconciled with Combs. He stated that she arrived at the meeting and explained that “we fell in love and things just happened,” indicating the emotional complexity of the relationships involved.

Mescudi and Ventura ultimately parted ways in December 2011, primarily due to the overwhelming drama surrounding their relationship. He expressed concern for both her safety and his own, stating, “I knew Sean Combs was violent.” The decision to end the relationship was made to mitigate the escalating drama and give Ventura some space away from that environment.

When their relationship concluded, Mescudi noted that he and Ventura “just stopped talking” after nearly daily communication for a year. During cross-examination, he was asked if he felt played by her, to which he candidly replied, “Yes,” acknowledging the emotional turmoil that ensued.

In fact, when defense attorney Brian Steele queried whether Ventura had manipulated both him and Combs, Mescudi affirmed, “True.” He further admitted that Ventura had been “living a double life” with both men, adding a layer of complexity to the already fraught situation.

Mescudi recounted a surprising encounter years later when he ran into Combs in 2015. According to his testimony, Combs pulled him aside and said, “Man, I just want to apologize for everything and all that bulls–t.” Mescudi expressed that he was able to “find peace” after this unexpected moment of closure.

“That was the last thing I was expecting to hear from him,” he remarked, reflecting on the transformative nature of that apology.
