Introducing the Adorable New Cameras Inspired by Polaroid Now and Polaroid Go
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, Polaroid is unveiling a charming collection of new cameras, instant film, and accessories inspired by beloved characters like Pikachu, Sylveon, and others. While this collection largely reimagines existing products, its cuteness is sure to capture the hearts of fans. Preorders will open on August 25 through Polaroid’s website and the Pokémon Center.
The spotlight will likely shine on the two new models based on the compact Polaroid Go. The Polaroid Go Camera Generation 3 – Pokémon Sylveon Edition showcases an appealing white and pink design, complemented by a multi-colored strap reminiscent of Sylveon’s ribbons and bows. Conversely, the Polaroid Go Camera Generation 3 – Pokémon Pikachu Edition features a vibrant yellow color scheme and a strap designed to resemble Pikachu’s tail. These cameras maintain the compact, portable essence of the original Polaroid Go while introducing enhanced features such as improved flash and a zoomed-in lens, reflecting the upgrades found in the third-generation models.
For those seeking a more advanced option, Polaroid introduces the Polaroid Now Camera Generation 3 – Pokémon Edition. This model, based on the larger Polaroid Now, utilizes full-sized Polaroid film and showcases a design inspired by the classic pokéball, featuring a shutter button molded in the shape of a pokéball. The third-generation Polaroid Now boasts enhanced ranging sensors for its dual-lens autofocus system, along with an optimally positioned light meter that Polaroid claims improves exposure quality.
To the cameras, Polaroid is offering smaller Polaroid Go Film that comes in Pikachu and Sylveon-themed frames, as well as Polaroid Color i-Type film featuring a broader array of Pokémon like Togepi, Mew, and Snorlax. To complete your collection, you can also acquire a Pokéball-shaped Polaroid Go case, a themed photo album, and a stylish camera strap. Notably, the dark slides for the new instant films will also showcase Pokémon characters, and Polaroid plans to establish a web portal for fans to track their collections.
The Polaroid Go Camera Generation 3 – Pokémon Sylveon Edition and Pikachu Edition will retail for $100 each, while the Polaroid Now Camera Generation 3 – Pokémon Edition will be priced at $140. If you’re interested in just the film, double packs of the Polaroid Go Color Film – Pokémon Pikachu Edition and Sylveon Edition will cost $25, while the Polaroid Color i-Type Film – Pokémon Edition will be available for $23. All cameras, film, and accessories can be preordered starting August 25, with a release date set for October 5.
