Florida Officer Accused of Stalking Estranged Wife Using Flock Camera System
Christopher Goodson is under scrutiny after allegedly misusing the Flock camera technology to track his estranged wife’s movements. According to reports from PEOPLE, his wife informed Goodson via text on August 10 that she had been contacted by The Washington Post regarding his actions.
The Washington Post reached out to Goodson’s estranged wife to investigate his inappropriate use of the Flock camera database, which is intended for legitimate law enforcement purposes.
Following this revelation, Goodson allegedly told a supervisor that he had used the Flock system to track his children while they were with his wife.
Investigation Reveals 717 Unauthorized Searches of Estranged Wife’s Vehicle
An investigation uncovered that Goodson entered his estranged wife’s license plate number into the Flock database over 700 times, with a total of 717 entries recorded between September 1, 2024, and June 30, 2026.
Haines City Police Chief Isaac Jackson described Goodson’s behavior as an “unfortunate incident” in a statement to PEOPLE.
“This is an unfortunate incident,” Jackson stated in the press release. “The Haines City Police Department fully supports all appropriate investigative measures necessary to solve crimes and assist our officers in carrying out their duties. We want to make it clear that the Haines City Police Department does not tolerate the misuse, unauthorized access, or personal use of any investigative databases or law-enforcement information systems. These resources are provided for legitimate official purposes only and must be used responsibly and in accordance with department policies and applicable laws.”
No Legal Investigation Against Goodson’s Wife
Since Goodson’s wife was not involved in any legal investigation, he has been placed on paid administrative leave. Goodson joined the Haines City Police Department in March 2022 but is reportedly considering resigning amid the ongoing investigation.
According to court documents, Mrs. Goodson “was not involved in any type of criminal investigation nor was her vehicle listed as being part of any crime which would require Christopher to inquire [about] her or the vehicle’s location.”
Despite this, Goodson allegedly attempted to justify his actions by citing reasons such as “Wanted Person (Arrest Warrant/Fugitive)” and “Drugs/Narcotics” to make his searches seem legitimate.
He is now facing charges related to official misconduct and violations against users of computers, computer systems, computer networks, and electronic devices.
