President Trump Grants Pardon to PGA Golf Caddy’s Drug Conviction Enabling His Participation in International Tournaments
Published
Donald Trump has exercised his presidential powers to pardon a golf caddy who has already completed his sentence. This action allows him to participate in PGA tournaments abroad.
After missing last year’s British Open, Eric Larson—who spent over a decade in prison for a drug conviction from thirty years ago—was unable to attend because his travel authorization to the U.K. was denied due to his criminal record.

Notably, Harris English, the PGA golfer for whom Eric caddies, finished in second place at the tournament last year, earning $1.8 million, as reported by the New York Post.
Given that caddies typically earn a 7% commission on their golfer’s winnings, Eric missed a substantial opportunity for earnings during that tournament.
With Trump’s recent pardon, Eric is now able to travel and participate in next year’s tournaments.
Commenting on the pardon, Harris expressed his excitement to the Post, stating, “I’m thrilled for Eric that he can regain his rights and travel to support me at the Scottish Open and the British Open. He understands the value of freedom and brings so much positivity.”
