Not Guilty: Russell Brand Faces Rape and Sexual Assault Charges

Russell Brand has officially declared his innocence by pleading not guilty to all five of the serious charges related to rape and assault during a court session in London on Friday.

The acclaimed comedian and actor formally asserted his innocence against a range of allegations, which include one instance of rape, one charge of oral rape, two accusations of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault, as confirmed by TMZ at Southwark Crown Court.

Brand is anticipated to participate in a pre-trial review scheduled for May 20, 2026, with the actual trial set to commence in June. A judge has confirmed that he will remain on conditional bail until the trial date.

On the day of his court appearance, Brand was seen arriving in a stylish dark gray suit paired with a striped button-down shirt, which was casually opened to reveal his chest adorned with layered silver necklaces. He completed his look with aviator sunglasses and maintained a serious demeanor as he prepared to make his “not guilty” plea.

His plea comes as no surprise, as he has consistently vehemently denied all allegations of rape since the charges were first brought against him in April, showcasing his steadfast commitment to clearing his name.

While he has denied ever sexually assaulting anyone, Brand has openly admitted to having acted foolishly in the past, referring to himself as a “fool” and “imbecile” during his struggles with drug addiction and sex addiction prior to meeting his wife and successfully turning his life around.

The alleged incidents involving Russell Brand are reported to have occurred between 1999 and 2004, affecting four women who have come forward with their stories.
