Blake Lively Courtroom Drama: Blake Lively vs. Jed Wallace
Published
Blake Lively is seeking compensation for her legal expenses from Jed Wallace after his defamation case against her was dismissed. Wallace insists that she must respond to specific questions under oath before any payment is made.
Wallace, a crisis public relations specialist who collaborated with Justin Baldoni‘s team during a legal battle with Blake, filed new documents that TMZ has acquired, requesting a Texas judge to compel the actress to participate in a deposition.
According to the court documents, the questions posed will focus solely on Blake’s request for attorneys’ fees and damages related to the case.
Wallace aims to determine whether Blake acted with malice when she made allegations of sexual harassment against him and his firm, Street Relations Inc. He believes that this inquiry is crucial to justify his stance on her request for legal fees.
Blake’s legal team responded to TMZ, stating, “Jed Wallace has already taken Ms. Lively’s deposition. His case was dismissed. Ms. Lively won. This is yet another desperate, unfounded attempt by Wallace to pursue Ms. Lively out of concern that he might face a similar fee award that Ms. Lively received from Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios in New York.”
It’s worth noting that Wallace sued Blake for defamation in Texas over previous allegations, but the court dismissed the case due to lack of jurisdiction.
Blake subsequently requested that Wallace cover approximately $800,000 in legal fees, along with additional costs and damages. Wallace contends that if Blake seeks this amount, he should have the opportunity to question her about her beliefs and knowledge at the time she made the allegations.
If Wallace can prove that Blake acted with malice, it could undermine her claim for legal compensation.
