Jonathan Wright Shares His Reflections on Friends Who Allegedly Failed to Support Him in Prison
Since his release from prison in September, Jonathan Wright has re-emerged on social media. The Shade Room previously reported that he received a one-year sentence in December 2025 due to a gun charge.
With his return to the public eye, the celebrity hairstylist sparked conversations by appearing on the ‘What Now’ podcast. During the interview, Jonathan candidly discussed the friends who supported him and those who did not during his incarceration.
He specifically named Asian Doll, Keyshia Cole, and Megan Thee Stallion, expressing disappointment in their lack of support. Jonathan shared that their absence was hurtful to him, emphasizing he would have been there for them if their roles were reversed.
On a positive note, he acknowledged Mellow Rackz as someone who consistently supported him while he was imprisoned.
Asian Doll Responds with Evidence After Jonathan Wright’s Podcast Remarks
Asian Doll quickly reacted to Jonathan’s statements.
The Dallas rapper utilized her Instagram Story to share screenshots that appeared to demonstrate her attempts to connect with Jonathan during his time in prison. The messages indicate she was checking in on him and striving to maintain their connection.
Asian Doll contested Jonathan’s claim of their being best friends. She asserted that they were never best friends and accused him of “lying” and seeking attention.
Asian also questioned Jonathan’s mention of Megan Thee Stallion, claiming that they had not communicated for quite some time. She suggested Jonathan named her, Megan, and Keyshia to attract public interest.
Asian highlighted the support she provided to Jonathan, including sending him money, and questioned why he would call her out after she made efforts to reach him during his incarceration.
Public Reactions on Social Media
Social media users flooded the comment section of TSR Teens with their thoughts.
Instagram user @miasumserious stated, “He didn’t say she didn’t do for him. He said she wasn’t THERE the way he thought she would be! If you care about your best friend and they go to prison for a year, I wouldn’t miss a SINGLE phone call. Regardless of my circumstances, I’m supposed to support my friends!”
Another user, @missscorpioo_, commented, “Why did he mention Keyshia Cole though? 🤣 It seems Asian has a valid point; he didn’t mention family, just celebrities.”
Instagram user @jala_______ remarked, “Did you all actually listen to the interview? He didn’t say anything wrong. She responded like she has been wanting to say this for a while… it feels like she was never truly his friend. And she definitely used to call him best friend, come on now… she reacted too strongly just because he felt slighted by her and Megan and Keyshia.”
User @adorelayboo added, “Why are people upset with her for showing that she texted him and didn’t receive a response? Not to mention, her life didn’t pause while he was in jail; she still has a daughter and bills to manage.”
Instagram user @thereal1_timatima said, “She communicated with him and sent money; what more was she supposed to do?”
User @_shaashaa_ quipped, “Lmaoooo wasn’t he only in there for a year?”
Another user, @_savage_lele, commented, “Asian Doll came prepared with evidence; you can’t deny it 😂.”
User @_foreverkee asked, “Why would Jonathan need clout from Asian? 😂”
