Ariana Grande appears to have reignited her relationship with ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez by hinting at it during her recent concert in New York City.
While performing “Thank U, Next” at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, she made a significant change to the lyrics of her 2018 hit.

The original lyrics included the lines, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.” However, during her performance, Ariana sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back,” showcasing her emotional connection.
A video of the performance circulated online, capturing the excitement of the sold-out crowd at Barclays, who erupted in cheers upon hearing the altered lyrics!
In fact, Ariana has altered the lyrics to “Thank U, Next” on two previous occasions during her 2026 tour.

On June 26, Ariana performed at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, singing, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he’s still got my back.” Just a couple of days earlier, she had performed, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / And they still kinda slap.”
Ariana and Ricky’s relationship began in 2014 when he joined as a backup dancer for her. They started dating in 2015 but ended their relationship the following year. Recently, they have been spotted together multiple times, including on the Fourth of July.
