Dolly Parton Why Miley Cyrus Considers Dolly Parton’s Death Date ‘Significant’
Published
Fans around the world are deeply saddened by the passing of Dolly Parton. Many have pointed out that she died on a date that holds special meaning for her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus.
Miley shared this insight during her 2023 ABC special “Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions).” She explained that August 25 has personal and professional significance, which is why she chose to release her 2023 single “Used to be Young” on that date.
This date is significant for Miley beyond just her new single. She also released her groundbreaking hit “Wrecking Ball” on August 25, 2013, and gave her iconic and controversial performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on the same day.
August 25 marks the day when Miley’s ex-husband Liam Hemsworth publicly confirmed their breakup for the first time back in 2010.
August 25 is the birthday of Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
From a numerical perspective, August 25 is represented as 8/25. Interestingly, Dolly’s “Jolene” album has a runtime of 25 minutes and 8 seconds. The album’s single, “Jolene,” is currently climbing the Apple Music charts.
While Miley has yet to publicly honor the legendary country artist, Billy took a moment to remember Dolly by reflecting on a past incident where he had to apologize to her for tabloid rumors of an affair many years ago.
Billy recounted Dolly’s witty response to his apology, saying, “Honey, this trash sells records!”
As previously reported, Dolly passed away on Tuesday after a short battle with cancer and ongoing kidney and autoimmune challenges. She was hospitalized on Friday morning.
Reports indicate that her death was unexpected for those who were closest to her, even though they were aware of her health issues.
