Miley shared this insight during her 2023 ABC special “Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions).” She explained that August 25 has personal and professional significance, which is why she chose to release her 2023 single “Used to be Young” on that date.
This date is significant for Miley beyond just her new single. She also released her groundbreaking hit “Wrecking Ball” on August 25, 2013, and gave her iconic and controversial performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on the same day.
August 25 marks the day when Miley’s ex-husband Liam Hemsworth publicly confirmed their breakup for the first time back in 2010.
August 25 is the birthday of Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
