Tom Hardy is currently seeking new opportunities in television. Following the conclusion of filming for season 2 of Mobland, reports indicate that the 48-year-old Oscar nominee faced termination from the project due to escalating conflicts with the creative team. Recent revelations suggest that Hardy’s behavior on set may have been detrimental to his career.
As of now, neither Hardy nor members of the Mobland cast and crew have made any public statements regarding these allegations.
Here’s a comprehensive overview of what we know about the circumstances surrounding Hardy’s alleged firing from his role in the Paramount+ series.

What Led to Tom Hardy’s Dismissal from Mobland?
According to reports from Puck News, known for its accurate journalism, Hardy was let go from the series prior to the anticipated season 3 production. he will still appear in season 2, which features him as both an actor and a former executive producer.
Deadline has also corroborated the news of Hardy’s exit.
What Were the Reasons Behind Tom Hardy’s Alleged Firing from Mobland?
Multiple factors contributed to Hardy’s firing, as reported by Puck News. The publication claimed that Hardy frequently arrived late to filming sessions during season 2. He allegedly had numerous suggestions for script changes and modified dialogue on set. In fact, his behavior reportedly came close to prompting producer Jez Butterworth to leave the project, leading Paramount to ultimately terminate Hardy’s contract.
Further reports from Puck indicated that Hardy had disagreements with the ensemble cast, which features industry heavyweights like Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan.
A source connected to the production disclosed to The Hollywood Reporter that Hardy “refused to leave his trailer for extended periods,” causing delays for the cast, including Mirren and Brosnan, who were left “waiting” for him.
“He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a clear power move,” the insider revealed. “Making Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and others wait is detrimental to one’s career, I would argue.”
This stands in stark contrast to Hardy’s previous praises for his co-stars. In an April 2025 interview with Parade, the Revenant actor expressed admiration for his “wonderful” experiences working alongside Helen, Pierce, and Paddy Considine.
“I’ve always respected Helen and have admired Pierce’s body of work,” Hardy shared. “Being able to observe their craft and participate in that process has been incredibly rewarding. They are exceptional actors, immensely talented, and have made significant contributions to the industry. It has been a genuine pleasure to collaborate with both Pierce and Helen.”
Hardy further noted his long-standing appreciation for Paddy, stating, “I’ve been a huge admirer of Paddy since my early career alongside Stephen Graham. Both he and Michael Shannon are remarkable character actors who have always inspired me. I was eager to work with Paddy since our collaboration on Child 44.”
Is a Third Season of Mobland in the Works?
While Paramount+ has yet to officially announce a renewal for season 3 of Mobland, Deadline reported that a writers’ room is already in place, indicating plans for a third season are underway.
