In a recent interview with Page Six, Todd Tucker reflected on adjusting to life following his breakup with Kandi Burruss. He revealed that the initial phase of their separation was particularly challenging for him. Todd described how he spent extensive time alone, grappling with his emotions and contemplating the impact of their split on their family unit.
“I spent a lot of time in my head, pondering what just happened […] Did I lose my family?” Todd expressed.
Todd Discusses the Shift in His Relationship with Mama Joyce
Todd also addressed the need to move past the drama with Mama Joyce. He expressed a sense of relief, feeling as though “a weight has been lifted off his shoulders,” now that she is not directly involved in his daily life. He clarified that while their relationship played out on screen, the tension was just as palpable off-camera. Despite the friction they shared, Todd consistently made efforts to earn her approval. He recognized that Mama Joyce had reservations about him, but that never deterred him from trying to forge a better relationship with her. He stated, “That’s still my kids’ grandmother, and I want them to maintain a strong bond, but I’m content with the way things are now.”

He noted that Kandi’s daughter, Riley Burruss, has expressed her hope for reconciliation. Todd recounted a touching moment at a party for his daughter Kaela, where Riley pulled him aside and said, “Go get my mom back,” leaving him momentarily speechless.
