Spotify could be finding additional pricey, but it’ll really be for a fantastic explanation.

A new higher-fidelity audio tier will reportedly come out later this year, according to a report from Bloomberg Tuesday. The subscription will price at least $five additional a month and come with superior-sounding music as effectively as new tools for generating playlists and managing music libraries.

Spotify didn’t right away respond to a request for confirmation about this new tier.

HiFi audio on Spotify has been rumored for years. Back in 2021, the firm stated it was functioning on the function and it would be out later that year. There was speculation that the premium tier was shelved just after Apple Music beat Spotify to the punch. Amazon, Tidal, as effectively as Apple offer you higher-high-quality audio as component of their solutions.

Final year saw additional rumblings about this greater-priced tier, dubbed internally as “Supremium.” It was supposed to be released late final year, so we’ll see if 3 occasions is the charm for audiophiles who subscribe to Spotify.

Streaming higher-fidelity audio has been a huge deal for music lovers. Legendary rocker Neil Young continually took challenge with Spotify for its streaming high-quality. Young removed his music from Spotify in 2022 more than its promotion of the Joe Rogan Practical experience podcast when the comedian was inviting guests who share covid-19 and vaccine misinformation. The rocker changed his thoughts back in March but pleaded with the music streaming firm to do anything to bring higher-fidelity audio to subscribers.

“I have returned to Spotify, in sincere hopes that Spotify sound high-quality will strengthen and individuals will be in a position to hear and really feel all the music as we created it,” Young stated in March.
