Far-right personality and pardoned January 6 insurrectionist Jake Lang was taken into custody after a vehicle he occupied drove onto a busy sidewalk during his protest in Minneapolis on Saturday.
According to police reports, Jake approached Minneapolis City Hall in a vehicle alongside another car filled with individuals just before noon. Officers claim both vehicles drove onto the sidewalk, heading directly toward a group of people gathered there.
Jake, along with all passengers in the vehicle, faced arrest for “probable cause riot,” as reported by police. Both vehicles involved were subsequently impounded. Authorities also made additional arrests at the scene near City Hall.
Chaos erupted in downtown Minneapolis as counter-protesters broke through police lines and confronted Jake Lang.

Footage circulated on social media depicted Jake being pulled down and drenched in liquid by anti-protesters while he grasped a large white cross, prior to his eventual arrest by law enforcement.
The far-right figure had previously declared his intention to travel to Minneapolis for a “peaceful freedom of speech rally.”
Clearly, his presence provoked significant backlash, and the anticipated peace was short-lived.
