Nintendo has exciting news! Two livestream events are scheduled for next week to mark significant milestones in their gaming universe. The first event celebrates the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, taking place on September 8 at 10 AM ET. The second event, a traditional Nintendo Direct, is set for September 9, also at 10 AM ET.
The Zelda anniversary livestream is expected to run for about 30 minutes. While it will honor the legacy of this beloved franchise, fans can anticipate a focus on the highly anticipated Ocarina of Time remake. This game was first revealed in June and promises to be a comprehensive reimagining of the classic Nintendo 64 title.
There’s always the possibility that Nintendo will use this opportunity to hint at another upcoming Zelda title. it seems premature to expect details about a new mainline game, particularly a sequel to Tears of the Kingdom. We might see announcements for a new 2D Zelda game or a cross-promotion related to Mario Kart World. a brief teaser for the upcoming Zelda movie could also be on the agenda.
The Nintendo Direct on September 9 holds its own air of mystery. While the Ocarina of Time remake is likely the centerpiece for the holiday season, several other titles are slated for release in the coming months. Fans can look forward to a final trailer for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, which launches on September 17. Another exciting title, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a spiritual successor to Wii Sports, is set to debut on October 22, so expect to see fresh gameplay footage. Despite its name, this game will be exclusive to the Switch 2.
We can also anticipate trailers for various cross-platform holiday releases, including Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World and Final Fantasy Resonance. As has been the case in past Direct presentations, expect to see a showcase of numerous cozy indie games and other delightful surprises.
This Direct is planned to last 45 minutes, which leaves ample time for unexpected announcements. The Switch 2 has been available for over a year now, and fans are eager for news regarding new mainline Mario games. The same goes for other beloved franchises such as Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros., and Pikmin. The anticipation is palpable.
Regardless of the content, Nintendo is gearing up for a thrilling response to these two streams. there’s a two-hour Treehouse event scheduled for September 9 at 10:45 AM ET. Treehouse presentations typically feature gameplay from newly announced titles.
