Teresa Giudice has opened up about her daughter Milania‘s recent struggles with mental health, urging the public to allow her 20-year-old daughter the necessary space as she copes with “significant psychological trauma.”
On Monday, Teresa released a heartfelt statement via social media, expressing, “As a mother, my children’s health, safety, and well-being are my utmost priorities.”
She described the last few months as “extremely challenging” for their family, revealing that Milania has endured “immense heartbreak and significant psychological trauma” following the loss of two close friends.
Teresa emphasized her commitment to ensuring that Milania is enveloped in “love, family, support, and the essential care” she requires, while also asking the public to extend “compassion and kindness” to her daughter during this healing process.
She added, “Milania is my daughter first and foremost.”
This statement follows TMZ’s release of police body-camera footage from a recent distressing event at Tampa International Airport, where Milania was seen filming Teresa and her sister, Gia Giudice, as Teresa urgently expressed, “I want to save your life.” Gia also voiced her desire to help Milania.
Teresa is heard informing law enforcement that Milania had fentanyl present in her system during a recent incident. Milania responded that the substance was “laced.” The details surrounding this substance and the timing of the incident remain unclear.
In another segment of the footage, officers informed Gia that the family reported Milania had recently been released from a facility after undergoing a Baker Act evaluation. They also mentioned that a counselor was engaged to support her.
As previously reported, it was communicated to police that Milania was exhibiting “suicidal thoughts/mental breakdown” and had recently been discharged from St. Anthony’s Hospital.
