This week, Flemish broadcaster VRT NWS announced Michiel’s passing, sharing a heartfelt statement from Boundbreakers, the production company behind the documentary series “How to Be Alive,” which featured him prominently.
Diagnosed with progeria at an early age, Michiel faced the challenges of this progressive condition, which accelerates the aging process, leading to a significantly reduced life expectancy. Currently, there is no known cure for progeria.
