As reported earlier, Cornelius Smith faced serious charges including first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and attempted first-degree murder related to Young Dolph’s death in 2021. Under a plea agreement reached on Friday, Smith pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, resulting in the dropping of the other charges against him. He received a 20-year prison sentence without the possibility of parole. His attorney, Michael Scholl, indicated that Smith will receive credit for time already served, which will leave him with an estimated 15 years left to serve.
