Trump Media and Technology Group, the organization behind the social media platform Truth Social, is set to offer access to Truth Social posts via a new API. Launching on August 1, this Truth API will provide businesses with “real-time access to posts from the most influential Truth Social accounts.” This creates a direct connection from President Donald Trump’s preferred social media outlet to those looking to make investment decisions influenced by his posts.
According to Trump Media, “The Truth API employs familiar, industry-standard delivery methods to ensure that Truth Social posts reach our customers in mere milliseconds.” Users can expect continuous 24/7 access, along with a historical archive of posts dating back to 2022.
Historically, various social media platforms have provided either free or paid access to their APIs for developers seeking to create clients for viewing posts or other functionalities. Notably, Twitter eliminated free access to its API in 2023, shortly after Elon Musk’s acquisition. TMTG CEO Kevin McGurn highlights that “markets already react to Truth Social posts,” differentiating this offering.
A significant factor contributing to this market response is Truth Social’s most notable user, President Trump. As a major shareholder in the platform’s parent company through his trust, Trump is also the most followed user on Truth Social, boasting approximately 12.9 million followers as of July 2026. He regularly shares key policy announcements and government actions via Truth Social before they are officially released through other channels.
Trump Media anticipates that providing unrestricted access to posts will serve as “a substantial and ongoing revenue stream for the company, delivering enduring value to shareholders,” including the President’s family. Should this initiative falter, the company still has the nuclear fusion business it merged with last year as a fallback plan.
