A well-known Mexican social media influencer was tragically killed while livestreaming, shot by an assailant on a motorcycle.
The shocking event occurred on a Tuesday in Culiacan, Mexico, and was captured live by Cesar Gastelum before he succumbed to his injuries.
The livestream footage, shared on Instagram, depicted Gastelum enjoying time with friends on the street as two men approached on a motorcycle.
One of the individuals then brandished a firearm and fired a bullet at Gastelum’s head before both men sped away on the motorcycle.
CNN has reported that Mexican authorities have confirmed Gastelum’s death and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding his murder.
This tragic incident adds to the ongoing violence between competing organized crime factions battling for dominance in Culiacan, the capital of Sinaloa.
The circumstances of Gastelum’s death bear a haunting resemblance to the fatal shooting of fellow Mexican influencer Valeria Marquez in May 2025, who was also killed during a livestream.
