Meghan Markle Talks Re-Joining Instagram and Life at Home

Meghan Markle just sat down for a rare interview with The Cut to talk about everything from life in Montecito, to her new Netflix docuseries—and we have a lot to cover! First of all, the Duchess revealed that she is potentially rejoining Instagram, saying “Do you want to know a secret? I’m getting back … on Instagram.” (Note: she said later in the interview that she wasn’t actually sure about the decision.)

Meghan also spoke about moving to Montecito and picking the perfect home for her family, saying “We were looking in this area and this house kept popping up online in searches. We didn’t have jobs, so we just were not going to come and see this house. It wasn’t possible. It’s like when I was younger and you’re window shopping — it’s like, I don’t want to go and look at all the things that I can’t afford. That doesn’t feel good.

She and Harry did end up moving into their dream home, which Harry loved at first sight. “One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,” she said. “See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’  And now every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.’”

Meghan says they told the real estate agent “We have to get this house” and did everything they could to get it, saying “you walk in and go … Joy. And exhale. And calm. It’s healing. You feel free.”

FYI, Harry also showed up in the interview, noting that after the photoshoot for The Cut, Meghan told him “‘I’m not a model.’ I was like, ‘No, you are, of course you can be a model.’ And she’s like, ‘I’m a mom!’ And it’s like, ‘You can be both.’”

Meghan also spoke a bit about her and Harry’s upcoming Netflix docuseries, saying “The piece of my life I haven’t been able to share, that people haven’t been able to see, is our love story,” going on to explain that she hopes “love wins” is “the sentiment that people feel when they see any of the content or the projects that we are working on.”
