Macklemore Reveals NFL Owners Blacklisted Him from Ed Sheeran Tour

Macklemore alleges that Robert Kraft and a coalition of stadium owners effectively barred him from participating in Ed Sheeran’s tour. The New England Patriots owner reportedly informed Ed Sheeran that Macklemore’s involvement would preclude the singer from performing at his venue.

In an extensive statement released on Instagram, Macklemore revealed that Ed informed him that Kraft reached out after the rapper’s pro-Palestine remarks at MetLife Stadium gained considerable attention. Kraft allegedly stated that Macklemore would not be permitted to perform at Gillette Stadium, which he owns.

Macklemore further claims that Kraft rallied other stadium owners, leading to Ed being presented with an ultimatum: either sever ties with Macklemore or forfeit access to their venues.

This situation took a personal turn for Macklemore, who expressed that his long-standing friendship with Ed spans 13 years. He views Ed as a brother, yet they faced several challenging discussions over the preceding week, which culminated in what Macklemore describes as a “fundamental disagreement.”

Macklemore stated that Ed mentioned the phrases “Free Palestine” and the Palestinian flag were distressing to individuals he had consulted.

Macklemore was skeptical of Ed’s claims of neutrality. He noted that Ed repeatedly asserted, “I don’t take sides,” while Macklemore countered that there is no neutral ground regarding the ongoing issues in Gaza.

Despite the turmoil, Macklemore acknowledged that Ed found himself in an incredibly challenging situation and emphasized that he does not wish to undermine his long-time friend.
