In total, ten individuals suffered gunshot wounds during this dreadful occurrence, and police have confirmed that the suspected shooter is also deceased following an officer-involved response. Violent Incident Spanning Multiple Homes Ends with Suspect’s Death by Police
According to spokesperson Chris Bordelon from the Shreveport Police, the violence erupted across multiple locations. The tragic events unfolded at two residences on the same block, along with another home situated in a different part of the neighborhood. Officers first arrived on the scene shortly after 6 a.m. ET, where they discovered victims in one of the homes. The suspect allegedly fled the scene and carjacked a nearby vehicle. However, law enforcement quickly located the suspect and, during the pursuit, the suspect was killed after officers discharged their firearms. The name of the suspect has not yet been released, as authorities are awaiting official notifications.
Local and state leaders are expressing that the repercussions of this tragedy extend far beyond the immediate scenes of violence. Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux described the situation as “maybe the worst tragic situation we’ve ever had in Shreveport,” stressing the ongoing need for support as multiple victims remain hospitalized while the investigation is actively conducted. Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill has confirmed that several agencies are now engaged in the case, underscoring the complexity and urgency of the situation.
