Real-Time ‘Online’ Indicator in Group Chats for Enhanced Engagement – WhatsApp has introduced an innovative feature that displays a new indicator revealing how many participants in your group chat are online at any moment. This allows you to actively engage with members in real-time. The group chat member indicator is conveniently located next to your group name, offering you another opportunity to enhance engagement and interaction within your group.
Customizable Highlight Notifications in Group Chats – In a bid to improve user experience, WhatsApp has rolled out new notification settings for group chats. You can now choose to receive notifications for all chat updates or limit them to only those messages that mention you. With the new ‘Notify for’ setting, simply select ‘Highlights’ to be notified about @mentions, replies, and messages from your saved contacts, or choose ‘All’ to receive comprehensive notifications.
Seamless Event Updates for Individual and Group Chats – WhatsApp now enables users to create events within 1:1 chats, in addition to group discussions. The platform has also revamped its RSVP options, allowing you to respond with “maybe.” Furthermore, you can invite an additional guest directly within the chat, making it easier to coordinate and manage events with friends and family.
Effortless Tappable Reactions in Chats – To enhance interaction, WhatsApp has introduced a more intuitive way to react within a chat. You can now easily tap on another user’s reaction to send the same response, streamlining the process of expressing your feelings in conversations.
Advanced Document Scanning Feature for iPhone Users – The app now offers the ability to scan and send documents directly within the platform. To utilize this feature, simply select ‘Scan document’ from the attachment tray and follow the prompts to scan, crop, and save your document for effortless sharing.
Enhanced Pinch-to-Zoom Functionality in Video Calls – iPhone users can enjoy the new “pinch to zoom” feature during video calls, allowing them to adjust their view and ensure a tidy background while in conversation, enhancing the overall video calling experience.
Add Participants to Ongoing Calls Directly from Chat Threads – Users can now conveniently add individuals to an active 1:1 call directly from a chat thread. To do this, simply tap the call icon at the top of the chat and select ‘Add to call,’ streamlining the communication process and making it easier to involve others.
Significantly Improved Video Quality for Calls – WhatsApp has made substantial upgrades to its video streaming capabilities, ensuring that video calls are now more reliable and offer higher quality. These enhancements will optimize connectivity, reducing the chances of call dropouts and video freezing, thus improving the overall user experience.
Short Video Notes Feature for Channel Communication – Channel administrators can now record and share brief video messages (up to 60 seconds) with their followers, providing a more engaging and dynamic way to communicate updates and information.
Transcription of Voice Messages on Channels for Enhanced Accessibility – Users now have the capability to generate transcripts of voice messages received from channels, making it easier to follow along and ensuring that important information is accessible to everyone.
