Khloé Kardashian Responds Assertively To Lamar Odom’s Disputed Claims About Her Support During His 2015 Overdose
The reality television star is clarifying the situation following Lamar Odom’s apparent denial of statements she made in his Netflix documentary. This documentary delves into the former basketball player’s battle with addiction, including the harrowing moment he was discovered unresponsive in a Nevada brothel in 2015. In the film, Khloé candidly reflects on their marriage and elaborates on her reasons for halting their divorce proceedings to provide him with unwavering support during his darkest hours.
During a recent episode of her podcast, ‘Khloé in Wonderland,’ she shared her frustrations regarding Odom’s comments while conversing with her close friend, Malika Haqq. Khloé expressed her dissatisfaction with Lamar’s reactions to her statements, particularly his claims that she was not supportive during his overdose and recovery phases. She articulated feeling disrespected because she participated in the documentary as a “favor” to him, highlighting her genuine concern for his well-being.
“I willingly do the Netflix thing for Lamar; I’m not getting one penny to do this. I have no dog in this fight; it doesn’t matter to me if this documentary is made or not made. And it’s also something I really don’t want to talk about anymore,” Kardashian stated.
Khloé Kardashian Reaffirms Her Commitment To Supporting Lamar Odom
During her podcast episode, Khloé mentioned that she observed Lamar conducting several press interviews about the documentary. She described feeling that he appeared “annoyed” with her and even seemingly accused her of “lying” about her significant role in his life during his overdose. From this point, the founder of Good American expressed her belief that Lamar is undermining her support because he was unhappy with the public’s reaction to the documentary. She conveyed that it feels as though he is attempting to tarnish her reputation since he lacked positive aspects to highlight regarding his sobriety journey.
“You’re not now going to s**t on me or play in my face, because you don’t like the reaction and response from the public.” She further stated, “Now to act like I didn’t do all of the things I did, and insinuate I’m a liar is crazy.”
What Did Lamar Odom Say Previously About Khloé Kardashian’s Support?
On April 6, Lamar Odom participated in an interview on ‘TODAY‘ with Jenna & Sheinelle. When questioned about whether he believes Khloé saved his life, Lamar responded by saying he thinks she helped him in certain ways and did care for him significantly. “In some ways. I think God saved my life. My Lord saved my life, honestly.” Odom continued to emphasize, “She took care of me. God took care of me the most. What I came back from was like a medical miracle.”
Khloé initially filed for divorce from Lamar in December 2013 after four years of marriage. However, she later decided to dismiss the divorce in 2015 to assist with crucial medical decisions during his overdose. She filed for divorce again in 2016, and they finalized their divorce in December of that same year. Fast forward nine years later, they reunited during the season 6 premiere of ‘The Kardashians’ in February 2025. During his ‘TODAY’ interview, Lamar described their first reunion since separating as feeling awkward. “It wasn’t really good for me, but you know, once you family, you always family, so she ain’t going nowhere.” He also mentioned that he will always hold love for her, although he is not in love with her anymore.
