ICE agents shot and wounded a man in Austin, Texas, sparking an investigation that has yet to provide many details about the incident.
On Sunday afternoon, a man—whose identity, age, and race remain undisclosed—was shot and injured, subsequently needing transport to a nearby hospital, according to information shared by officials at a press conference.
City officials clarified that the Austin Police Department was not involved in this incident. Mayor Kirk Watson expressed his dissatisfaction, stating he is “not happy at all” about a shooting involving someone who “claims to be law enforcement.”
During the press conference, Mayor Watson confirmed that the victim was taken to the hospital and is currently in serious but stable condition.
A significant police presence continues at the North Austin location where the shooting took place, ensuring community safety while the investigation unfolds.
