Natalie Harp, a former television personality, currently serves as a presidential executive assistant and is rapidly gaining recognition within the Trump administration.
While she was not entirely unknown before this month, she became a prominent figure in a significant national narrative when major publications like the Washington Post revealed that she was one of the Trump staff members discreetly escorted off Air Force One with the president in Turkey last month, concealed in a box intended for food. Harp achieved celebrity status on Sunday following a sarcastic comment regarding her close relationship with the president made during a campaign speech by Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff, which drew notable backlash from the Trump camp.
As a technology-focused publication, Gizmodo is particularly intrigued by Harp’s choice of equipment: the Epson WorkForce WF-110 Wireless Mobile Printer. Though it’s a functional device, it may not be the most suitable option for her apparent needs. We suspect this is the printer featured in the accompanying images.
A 2024 article in the New York Times notes that Harp is nicknamed the “human printer” by Trump’s staff because she consistently travels with a printer and a battery pack. Trump reportedly prefers having printed materials to read, and Harp dutifully accommodates this preference. There’s even a story about her running behind his golf cart in Scotland to keep him updated with positive news stories and social media posts.
When these details began circulating widely earlier this week, they struck me as peculiar. Why would she need a separate battery pack for a portable printer that presumably has its own battery? What type of printer are we discussing? And is she really managing all this while on the move outdoors?
I felt compelled to investigate her setup. Recent press pool photographs available on Getty Images reveal that she is currently carrying a gigantic Osprey tote, which might be more accurately described as a duffel bag. It’s enormous. What’s inside?
Fortunately, after some digging, I discovered that in several frames from the 2024 documentary series The Art of the Surge: The Donald Trump Comeback, Harp’s configuration is visible: the previously mentioned Epson WorkForce WF-110, connected to a MARBERO Portable Power Supply.
In one image, it appears she has a separate phone battery bank—brand unspecified—that she uses for wireless phone charging while simultaneously connecting a cord to her printer.
Gizmodo has not assessed the devices in Harp’s configuration, but it seems they are effective for her needs. Our primary observation is that, in terms of weight, this setup is excessively cumbersome for her activities.
Carrying the entire MARBERO power supply seems unnecessary and somewhat bizarre. According to Epson’s website, the WF-110 features a built-in battery that can be charged via USB or AC. If additional power is truly required, Epson offers an extended battery that attaches seamlessly. In their promotional materials, Epson showcases how the printer with the extended battery forms a compact unit that easily fits into a bag.
Amazon listings indicate that the Epson extended battery weighs 0.55 pounds, while the MARBERO power supply weighs approximately 2 pounds and 5 ounces. Harp likely also carries paper and spare ink cartridges. For reasons unknown, she appears to have an additional smaller battery bank exclusively for her phone. All of this adds considerable weight.
While the Epson WorkForce WF-110 is a solid, full-color option for mobile professionals, it is bulkier than I anticipated before conducting this research. The extra weight is likely significant. Reports about Harp’s lifestyle suggest that her need to slip away in food containers and dash around golf courses is not merely a rare occurrence.
A previous article in Vanity Fair detailed that Harp’s responsibilities necessitate her ability to reach the president quickly at any moment. She reportedly declined the option to stay in maid’s quarters at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, opting instead for a women’s locker room closer to where Trump slept during a recent stay.
The agility required for her role makes even the relatively lightweight WF-110, weighing in at 4.6 pounds according to Amazon, feel burdensome. PC Mag reports that the WF-110 prints at a modest 6.7 pages per minute in black and white, or a sluggish 3.5 pages per minute in color. While this is reasonable for a compact printer, it’s crucial to remember that our nation is currently in a state of conflict. The president requires social media posts printed expeditiously, as lives may depend on timely information.
Given these circumstances, Harp should consider transitioning to a truly portable, ink-free, and exceptionally fast thermal printer. I have not personally used one, but they are impressive. My consumer tech colleague, Kyle Barr, recommended the Brother PJ-883 as a reliable choice.

There’s much more to discuss regarding the equipment Harp has spread across a table in a Mar-A-Lago conference room in the documentary. The tangled mess of cords is overwhelming, and it’s unclear why she’s using a cord at all when her Epson printer has Bluetooth capabilities. it seems she could have left her MacBook back in her office (or locker room) and printed posts directly from her phone. While printing from a phone can sometimes yield less intuitive results, this is a reasonable consideration.
Harp’s overall setup is quite excessive. It’s remarkable how much gear she carries. She needs to streamline and consolidate her equipment; otherwise, if the Trump team finds themselves in another chaotic scenario—like going over Niagara Falls in a barrel together—how can she ensure everything fits?
Gizmodo reached out to the White House to confirm whether Harp owns and utilizes these specific devices. We also inquired whether she has made any upgrades. Unfortunately, we did not receive responses to our questions.
