To fix “Error starting game, trying again” in Overwatch 2, you need to try changing your region.
If changing your region fails, it means that the servers are down and you have to wait for them to be back up.

Fix 1: Change your region
- Open the Battle.net desktop app.
- Select “Overwatch 2”.
- Click on the globe icon.
- Change your region (e.g. Asia).
- Launch Overwatch 2 and try to join a game.
Fix 2: Wait for the servers to be back up
- Check if Overwatch 2 is down on DownDetector or Twitter.
- If there’s a huge spike, it means that the game is down.
- If the game is down, you need to wait for a few hours for the servers to be back up.
- The last outage lasted for approximately 3 hours.
