How Many ‘No Kings’ Protests Were There Today?
On March 28, 2026, over 3,000 “No Kings” protests were reported across all 50 states.
What Does the ‘No Kings’ Protest Mean?
The “No Kings” movement responds directly to Trump’s extravagant $100 million military parade and birthday celebration. This event was funded by taxpayers while essential services like Social Security and Medicaid faced budget cuts.
Organizers emphasize a commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety, with trained members ensuring peaceful demonstrations nationwide.
The term “No Kings” critiques authoritarian leadership. Actor and activist Mark Ruffalo participated in the New York protest, expressing concerns about democracy’s state.
Ruffalo stated, “We see a president who has made himself a king and dictator. We’re disgusted and scared, and we know that the only way to fight this is for the people to come together.”
