Bloober Team is venturing into innovative territory by launching its new publishing initiative through Broken Mirror Games, a co-development label. This exciting collaboration with Rock Square Thunder, an indie studio founded by former Bloober developers, is aimed at delivering a unique open-world survival horror game titled I Hate This Place. Gamers can anticipate its release in the final quarter of 2025 across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox Series S/X, and the Nintendo Switch. This venture marks a significant evolution in Bloober Team’s approach to the horror genre.
The game draws inspiration from a comic book series of the same name, produced by Skybound Entertainment, and created by writer Kyle Starks and artist Artyom Topilin. The adaptation maintains a striking hand-drawn style, immersing players in the gripping narrative of the protagonist, Elena. She finds herself in a terrifying situation after inadvertently unleashing a horrific force. Players will navigate through the game using strategy and resourcefulness to survive, seeking shelter and battling against the encroaching darkness before the sun sets.
Although Bloober Team is shifting its focus within the horror genre, the studio has a proven track record with several acclaimed titles, such as Layers of Fear and the anticipated releases that follow. This evolution signifies not just a new game but also an exciting new chapter in the studio’s history, promising to deliver fresh and engaging experiences for horror enthusiasts.
