In his emotional message, Gorkys referred to Deisy as the queen of his life. He described her as “the most beautiful, precious, and best woman in the world,” emphasizing how she always supported him during challenging times.
He expressed his belief that Deisy is now soaring high with God. Gorkys asked her to continue guiding him and their family as they navigate this profound loss.
Reports indicate that Deisy was at the Hotel Eduards in Macuto when the devastating double earthquake struck. She was accompanying Gorkys, who was preparing to compete in a game for La Guaira Delfines in the Venezuelan league.
As the earthquake unfolded, players rushed back to the hotel to search for their loved ones. Unfortunately, it appears that Deisy could not be rescued.
Gorkys Hernandez played a total of six seasons in Major League Baseball from 2012 to 2019. He primarily spent his career with the San Francisco Giants, though he also played for the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Miami Marlins.
The timeline of Gorkys and Deisy’s marriage remains uncertain.
Rest in peace.
