Family Speaks Out Following Court Appearance

Sidney Starr faced a court hearing in Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this month following her arrest on serious charges, including aggravated child molestation, sodomy, and sexual battery involving a 13-year-old boy. Anthony Lake, Sidney Starr’s defense attorney, appealed to the judge for her release on bond. On August 2, police responded to a call at the Embassy Suites hotel, where relatives of a 13-year-old boy were reportedly in a state of distress.

According to Carter, it was in the hotel lobby that the 13-year-old approached Starr, commenting on her appearance by saying she was “cute.” The boy then allegedly went to Starr’s hotel room, where they reportedly engaged in “sexual contact.” Prosecutors claim that this contact included oral intercourse.

Family Statements During the Court Proceedings

During the hearing, the mother of the 13-year-old boy had a statement read on her behalf. The statement detailed the emotional and psychological damage her child has experienced as a result of the incident. the judge did not grant Starr’s bond.

“This decision was based on speculative opinion rather than evidence,” stated Nora, Starr’s best friend, in a message shared with TSR. “… Sidney Starr is disheartened by the judge’s bond decision today. She remains in good spirits and requests that the public refrains from forming judgments about her guilt based on this ruling.”
