Daphne Joy released a statement on her Instagram Stories, which was visible for approximately 43 minutes before being removed. The Shade Room has verified the statement’s authenticity. In it, Daphne expressed, “Everybody plays the fool sometimes, and I have been the biggest fool.” She reflected on the circumstances surrounding the tape, revealing that her priority was her partner’s happiness, even if it meant sacrificing her own boundaries.

“I deeply loved him and I believed he loved me too…It’s still so painful for me to process the harsh reality and truth of that relationship…but as time passes and in my quiet moments…I realize that it was far from love,” Joy articulated.

She emphasized that she “never consented” to the filming of the intimate video that has now gone viral. Daphne alleged that “the person in the video” had previously blackmailed her, demanding money while threatening to release the footage. She did not specify whether she was referring to Diddy or the alleged escort, Sly Diggler. Joy stated that the man eventually sold the tape to “a major media outlet,” which later contacted her for a statement. After she informed them that the tape constituted “revenge porn and an extortion scheme,” the media company reportedly withdrew their interest. “…I know they are probably reading this and I want to say thank you for doing the right thing…even though years later..it’s come back to haunt me again,” she wrote.

Daphne Joy shared that it took her “all day to find the courage to rewatch [her] the abuse.” She described the experience as triggering and painful, highlighting the “inner turmoil and pressures” she faced during those moments.

“I was not and was never in my right mind throughout the entirety of that relationship…seeing myself so lost is excruciating. I just want to hold that girl in that room and get her out of there…and tell her that wasn’t love and she didn’t need to do this for love. My heart is breaking as I type this. I wish so many things were different but I can’t take back the hands of time.”

Is “Jane” Actually Daphne? Online Speculation Suggests So

This intimate video emerges nearly a year after “Jane,” a former girlfriend of Combs, began her testimony against him on June 5, 2025. During the trial, social media users and bloggers speculated that she might be the anonymous witness referred to as “Jane.” However, neither Daphne nor her legal representatives have confirmed her identity as the witness.

On the witness stand, “Jane” described a romantic relationship that started in 2021, during which she became financially reliant on him, including assistance with her living expenses. She recounted that their intimate encounters frequently involved other men and “hotel nights,” also referred to as “freak-offs,” along with significant drug use facilitated by Diddy. One particular incident included sexual acts with three men in succession, while another encounter in 2022 reportedly spanned three and a half days, according to “Jane.” Initially, she indicated discomfort through subtle hints before eventually voicing her objections. One text she sent to Combs was read aloud in court, stating:

“I’m so much more than being left in the dark of a hotel room. My heart is breaking. I don’t want to play this role in your life anymore. It’s dark, sleazy and makes me feel disgusted with myself. It’s the only reason you have me around and why you pay for my house. I don’t want to feel obligated to perform and fear losing you…I just want to talk like adults and figure where we go from here.”

Once again, Daphne Joy has never publicly claimed to be the witness “Jane” or addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding her identity.
