Sexyy Red may be facing legal troubles as a new lawsuit has emerged this week, potentially leading her to court. The hefty demand of million originates from a personal connection—her child’s paternity grandmother, Nicole Barnes, is suing her over allegations that she threatened her safety through a social media post. The specifics regarding which of Red’s two children is related to Barnes remain unclear, adding a layer of complexity to this unfolding legal drama.

Details of the Lawsuit Filed Against Sexyy Red

As reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Barnes officially filed her lawsuit on Monday, March 24. She accuses Sexyy Red, whose real name is Janae Wherry, of inciting her fans to harm her and allegedly sharing her home address and image on Facebook. Nicole claims that on December 3, Red urged her followers to “kick in the door” at her residence and confront her. This serious allegation raises questions about the nature of their relationship and what might have sparked such a public outcry from the rapper.

The motivation behind the purported post remains a mystery. An independent investigation by The Shade Room could not find any related content on Sexyy Red’s official Facebook profile. However, Nicole Barnes’ attorney, Steven Weaver, indicated on Tuesday that the disputes between Red and her son do not involve his client. This statement underscores the potential miscommunication or misunderstanding driving the lawsuit forward.

“Sexyy Red and her baby daddy are getting into beefs, for whatever reason, that have nothing to do with my client,” Weaver stated, highlighting the complexity of the situation.

Weaver further elaborated that Barnes’ legal team had initially approached Sexyy Red’s attorneys regarding the matter, but the response was reportedly dismissive, as they took the allegations lightly. Nicole Barnes is seeking $5 million for damages related to assault, as well as for intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress. She claims to be living in a state of constant fear, which has forced her to vacate her home due to safety concerns. Despite her efforts, the 51-year-old has struggled to find suitable housing, indicating the profound impact of this situation on her life.

Sexyy Red’s Response to the Lawsuit: What We Know

Despite the swirling controversy, Sexyy Red has remained active on her social media platforms but has not yet publicly addressed the lawsuit filed against her. As the situation develops, it is still unknown what led Red to allegedly expose her child’s grandmother in such a threatening manner. Interestingly, just one day prior, on December 2, she gained significant attention on social media for countering claims made by an ex-boyfriend who accused her of giving him herpes. She took to Twitter, now known as X, to clarify the situation.

The connection between Nicole Barnes and the ex-boyfriend who made allegations against Sexyy Red remains unclear, leaving many questions unanswered as this story continues to unfold. The legal implications of this lawsuit could have significant ramifications for the rapper, both personally and professionally, as she navigates the complexities of her public persona and family dynamics.
