According to an Instagram update from director Damien Leone, we can expect Terrifier 4 to unfold “around New Year’s Eve,” setting the stage for a thrilling continuation of the series.
Fans are eagerly anticipating more narrative insights beyond the brief hints provided by Leone. He has described the movie as “epic, thrilling, nasty, horrifying, emotional, and utterly satisfying,” while also promising to delve into the origin story of the infamous character, Art, portrayed by David Howard Thornton. This time setting raises questions, as Terrifier 3 concluded with a gripping cliffhanger during the Christmas season. It would be logical for Terrifier 4 to directly continue from there, following Sienna, played by Lauren LaVera, on a desperate rescue mission to save her young cousin, Gabby, portrayed by Antonella Rose, from the depths of hell, leading us swiftly to the New Year’s Eve celebration.
Nevertheless, this potential storyline could mark a departure from the established timeline in previous Terrifier films, which have intricately woven a specific chronological sequence into their narratives. The first film introduced Victoria, played by Samantha Scaffidi, a year after her harrowing encounter with Art, before rewinding to reveal the events that transpired. The second chapter advanced the timeline another year, welcoming Sienna into the storyline; the third installment then took place five years later, continuing Sienna’s saga.
As details about Terrifier 4 emerge, we will gain clarity on whether the New Year’s Eve setting will occur immediately after the events of Terrifier 3 or if it will leap forward in time, akin to the previous entries in the franchise.
