We’re lower than a month away from the following Made by Google occasion, and we might already know what one of many marquee bulletins will appear to be. TikTok person pixo_unpacking (by way of YTechB) posted movies over the weekend of obvious pre-production samples of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 XL.
The telephones within the video have completely different backs: a shiny end on the usual Pixel 9’s rear and a matte one on the bigger Pixel XL’s. 9to5Google notes that they seem to incorporate rear-panel etchings Google makes use of for prototypes, though they’re principally coated within the clips by labels.
Primarily based on the video, the Pixel 9 seems to have two cameras, whereas the Pixel 9 XL has three. As well as, Google appears to have modified the digital camera visor into an elongated oval. It seems to be fairly the protrusion, as evidenced by the video’s sections exhibiting the 2 telephones collectively.
Google despatched out invitations final month to the August 13 occasion. Though (unsurprisingly) devoid of particulars, it promised to “showcase the perfect of Google AI, Android software program and the Pixel portfolio of gadgets.” The occasion can be at Google’s Mountain View headquarters as a substitute of the standard New York Metropolis setting for Pixel launches.
Along with the Pixel 9 sequence, we anticipate a next-generation Pixel Fold, a brand new Tensor chip and a third-generation Pixel Watch. (And a attainable Pixel Buds look.) After all, since that is 2024 and no firm can maintain an occasion with out an virtually comical obsession with AI, we’re virtually assured to listen to extra about new Google AI options — just like the rumored Pixie AI assistant. As well as, the telephones may embrace iPhone-like emergency satellite tv for pc messaging.
