Discover the Exciting New Ship Skins Celebrating 15 Years of Star Trek Online

As part of the vibrant 15th anniversary celebration of Star Trek Online, players can now enjoy an exciting new bundle of ship skins inspired by the iconic original Star Trek films. This new addition not only enhances gameplay but also brings nostalgic visuals to life. The accompanying trailer is a delightful experience in itself, perhaps even more enjoyable than acquiring the ships. It captures the essence of the original series, making it a must-watch for fans and players alike.

Launch of the New Ship Bundle: A Special Addition for Star Trek Online Players

Today marks the launch of the highly anticipated ship bundle coinciding with the console debut of STO‘s latest season, Unveiled. In collaboration with Arc Games and DECA Games, this new offering celebrates Star Trek Online’s impressive 15-year journey. The bundle features four exciting new ships—“Tier 6” versions of the Pioneer II Pilot Heavy Frigate, which draws inspiration from a vessel in the “Agents of Yesterday” expansion; the Ark Royal Intel Carrier, which is based on the iconic ship from the 2000 video game Starfleet Command II; the Kerala Temporal Battlecruiser, influenced by the Shepard-class from Star Trek: Discovery; and the Shangri-La Command Warship, which pays homage to the Bill Krause design from the Neo-Constitution-class in Star Trek: Picard. Additionally, players will gain access to the Theseus Miracle Worker Destroyer, a ship that was previously available only as a random reward in lockboxes. Each vessel comes with unique skins that reflect the captivating visual aesthetics of the original series-era Star Trek films, from The Motion Picture to The Undiscovered Country, alongside skins that resonate with the 25th-century setting of Star Trek Online.

Experience the Thrill of the Star Trek Online Trailer: A Short Film Delight

While the new ships are undeniably exciting, the STO trailer showcasing the bundle might be even more captivating. Spanning nearly five minutes, this short film highlights each vessel in action, immersed in the dynamic aesthetics of the late 23rd Century. Rather than a conventional video game trailer, it offers a cinematic experience that echoes the beloved style of classic Trek films. The trailer features thrilling encounters with Romulan warbirds and Orion raiders, and cleverly nods to the notorious “no-win scenario” of the Kobayashi Maru test, creating a nostalgic yet fresh viewing experience for fans.

Navigate the Kobayashi Maru Test with Style in Star Trek Online

It seems the Kobayashi Maru test could have been a bit easier with a full task force of Starfleet ships ready to engage in battle. However, what truly stands out is the retro-cool aesthetic of the ships as they navigate the test. This playful approach serves as a heartfelt tribute to the memorable era of Star Trek filmmaking, showcasing a blend of nostalgia and modern gaming that resonates with both veteran players and newcomers to the franchise.

Get Your Hands on the Classic Film Bundle: Exclusive Offers for Star Trek Online

The classic film bundle is now available and includes a wealth of bonus consumables, along with ground-based gear inspired by the security armor and phasers featured prominently in The Motion Picture. This exciting bundle launches today for Star Trek Online on PC at a special introductory price of 13,125 Zen, the game’s premium currency, which is approximately $130. However, this price will increase to 17,500 Zen (around $175) starting from April 1. Additionally, each of the four brand-new ships will be available for individual purchase at a price of 2,400 Zen (roughly $24), which will later rise to 3,000 Zen (approximately $30).
