Snapchat+ Introduces New Features with Gen AI Enhancements

Spread the love

Snap has unveiled an exciting update for its Snapchat+ subscribers, introducing innovative features powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI), along with new Bitmoji clothing options designed to enhance user engagement and interaction on the platform.

To kick things off, Snapchat is rolling out two groundbreaking generative AI features: custom stickers that are generated based on the text you enter and movie poster simulations that allow users to envision themselves in various cinematic styles.

These custom stickers will be uniquely crafted based on your messages. For example, if you type “let’s grab lunch,” the AI tool will generate an image that visually represents that concept, adding a personalized touch to your conversations.

As noted by Snap:

“Just start typing in the chat bar and tap the sticker search button to see an AI-generated sticker that includes your text!”

This feature may feel a bit intrusive since Snap’s system analyzes your message text. However, it presents a creative way to encourage users to explore the platform’s image generation capabilities, providing direct context to enhance their direct messages.

In addition to custom stickers, Snapchat is also introducing a generative AI movie poster feature, allowing users to visualize themselves in a variety of generic movie styles, making the sharing experience even more entertaining.

While these AI features may not significantly enhance the social experience, they could provide a fun and engaging option that might resonate with the Snapchat community and encourage more creative interactions.

Snapchat is also expanding its Bitmoji styling options, allowing users to refresh their avatars with a wider selection of clothing styles.

“Give your Bitmoji a wardrobe refresh with even more styles to choose from, including new long skirts and dresses. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’ll also offer new themed looks featuring a heart-shaped purse and a fun and fuzzy heart costume.”

Bitmoji continues to be a focal point for Snapchat, providing users with a way to connect with their digital personas. This could eventually lead to an integration of Bitmoji characters within Metaverse platforms, ensuring Snapchat remains relevant in future digital landscapes.

Finally, Snapchat is launching a new feature called “Snap Modes”, designed to enhance user interaction and creativity by adding more tone, customization, and fun to how friends and family share moments. With this update, subscribers can send self-destructing Snaps for those fleeting moments that disappear if not viewed within a specified timeframe. Stay tuned for additional Snap Mode options coming soon!

“Now, subscribers can do things like send self-destructing Snaps for those ‘you had to be there’ moments that vanish if they are not viewed within a set time frame. (And look out for more Snap Mode options coming soon!)”

Snapchat+ February 2025 update

The non-replayable Snap option is also being rolled out, with additional features on the horizon. These updates could create exciting opportunities for enhancing user engagement through gamified messaging, making the sharing process more enjoyable and interactive.

Snapchat+ has proven to be a remarkable success for Snap, boasting over 14 million active users enrolled in its subscription program. Such impressive audience numbers have ensured that Snap continually rolls out features that resonate with its user base, driving higher adoption rates compared to other social media subscription services.

These latest enhancements are likely to be well-received, especially since Snap experienced a notable increase in Snapchat+ sign-ups during the holiday season, largely attributed to its gifting initiative. This update will be crucial in maintaining the engagement of these new subscribers and ensuring they remain active on the platform.
