Christine Wonsley Commemorates Nolan Wells’ 19th Birthday with a Heartfelt Message
Wonsley’s tribute included cherished photographs of Nolan and his family over the years. The heartfelt message was accompanied by the song ‘Eternal Sunshine’ by Jhené Aiko.
“Today you are 19, Nono! There are so many things we want to express, but we will keep it simple,” she wrote. “As we reflect on the incredible person you were, we feel blessed, honored, proud, and most importantly, thankful. Thankful for the glimpse of God’s love we experienced through you. Although your physical presence is no longer with us, we will always celebrate you and the legacy you left behind. You taught us invaluable lessons about cherishing life and living in the moment. Thank you for being the best son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend anyone could wish for. Thank you for filling our lives with joy, laughter, and true happiness every single day. You are our angel. Raising you has been a profound joy and honor. We miss you every moment of every day, and you will forever remain in our hearts, our sweet sonshine. Happy Heavenly 19th Birthday, Nono. Don’t indulge too much in Oreo cake and give Grandma a hug for us. Mahal na mahal ka namin, aming pinakamamahal na anak at kapatid. (Tagalog to English translation: We love you, our beloved son and brother) Love, Mom, Dad, Siblings, Louis, Ling and Family
.”
The family engaged civil rights attorney Ben Crump after local authorities indicated they did not suspect foul play, despite inconsistencies within accounts from Nolan’s friends. The NAACP joined the investigation on August 17, according to a statement from the organization’s general counsel, Kristen Clarke, as reported by Reuters.
“We are committed to seeking truth and transparency regarding the circumstances surrounding Nolan Wells’ death,” the statement reads.
Christine Wonsley Urges People to Refrain from Negative Comments
Wonsley concluded her heartfelt message by requesting that people refrain from posting negative comments. The grieving mother has faced online harassment while seeking to uncover the truth about her son’s passing.
“*KEEP NEGATIVE COMMENTS TO YOURSELVES,” she wrote. “Remember, Nolan is MY & ELMORE’S SON who WE LOST. #JusticeForNolanWells #IStandWithNolan.”
Recently, Wonsley faced not only online harassment but also an anonymous complaint filed against her with the Mississippi Board of Nursing, which initiated a professional misconduct investigation.
The investigation was eventually closed. Wonsley’s workplace has since been inundated with negative reviews following her son’s death.
