You’re about to get one other shot when you missed Sony’s temporary pre-order window for its thirtieth anniversary PS5 console. The retro-themed {hardware} bought out in a flash on its preliminary September 26 pre-order interval, leaving followers fuming at Sony’s predictably irritating order course of. An alert on Sony’s product web page (through Kotaku) says the second go-round will occur on Tuesday, October 29, at midday ET.
The limited-edition consoles and equipment have a throwback pores and skin paying homage to the OG PlayStation, which launched in Japan in 1994. That features a smooth grey shade scheme that provides the old-school Ps brand room to essentially pop.
The message (“Please test again on October twenty ninth from 9 AM PDT”) solely seems on the thirtieth Anniversary product pages for the $500 PS5 Slim Bundle and $80 DualSense controller. Sadly, no such message seems on the throwback PS5 Professional bundle or PlayStation Portal product pages.
Assuming solely the Slim bundle is offered, this will probably be your second (and maybe final) likelihood to get the cheaper of the 2 consoles. It contains the digital (no disc drive!) PS5 Slim, a normal DualSense controller (additionally themed for the event), a retro cable connector housing, PlayStation-shaped cable ties and a vertical stand. Oh, and there are some additional goodies like a sticker, poster and PlayStation paperclip, which we will solely think about will probably be bought for 3 figures on eBay after the bundle arrives on November 21.
