Sony has officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 VIII, designed with a strong emphasis on photography features that cater to both amateur and professional photographers. One of the standout innovations is the introduction of the brand’s cutting-edge AI Camera Assistant, powered by Xperia Intelligence. This intelligent assistant is capable of analyzing your shooting environment, automatically recognizing various elements such as the scene type, subject, and even weather conditions. Based on its analysis, the assistant can provide tailored suggestions regarding optimal color tones, suitable lenses, and creative bokeh effects to enhance your photographs. Users can easily apply these suggestions with a simple tap, making the photography process more intuitive and user-friendly.
The Xperia 1 VIII also boasts a significant upgrade with its new 1/1.56-inch image sensor in the telephoto camera, which is approximately four times larger than its predecessor. This impressive smartphone will be available in a variety of elegant colors, including Graphite Black, Iolite Silver, Garnet Red, and Native Gold. The pricing is set at €1,499 or £1,399 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the higher-end model featuring 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage will retail for €1,999 or £1,849. Pre-orders for this exciting device begin today, with an expected shipping date in June for European customers. However, it is worth noting that there are currently no plans for a US release.
