This remarkable event aims to raise funds for the National Women’s Law Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for gender equality and justice.
As the winter edition of GDQ’s Frame Fatales series, Frost Fatales stands alongside its summer counterpart, Flame Fatales. Last year’s event achieved an impressive milestone, raising $155,000 for the National Women’s Law Center, which tirelessly champions critical issues affecting women and girls. Since the inception of the Frame Fatales in 2019, these biannual speedrunning events have collectively raised over $1 million for various charitable causes, showcasing the gaming community’s commitment to social change.
This year’s thrilling lineup kicks off with a run of the notoriously challenging Cuphead at 1 PM ET on Sunday, immediately followed by the beloved Super Mario Odyssey just an hour later. Anyone who manages to conquer Cuphead during this time frame will undoubtedly earn significant bragging rights and a well-deserved Medal of Honor for their skill.
Among the many exciting runs scheduled for the week, fans can look forward to the classic Legend of Zelda on Sunday, the Wii version of Punch-Out!! on Monday, and an exhilarating “girl squad” race in Final Fantasy X-2 on Wednesday. The action continues with a race to defeat the infamous Ganon in Breath of the Wild on Saturday. To wrap up the event, there will be an impressive one-handed speedrun of the critically acclaimed indie platformer Celeste later that evening, showcasing remarkable gaming talent.
